What are you ordering for your life?
Hello, on this Georgous day
This may sound like a strange question but I would like to pose the following to you.
What are you ordering for your life?
Does anything come to mind? And what actually does this mean? And do you know what your order
looks like?
If you think about it, it’s literally like ordering off a menu at a restaurant and being specific and
intentional and confident about what you want in life.
Imagine going to breakfast and ordering the Eggs Benedict and you smile at the waitress/waiter and
state: “Please may I have the eggs benedict. I would like my eggs to be soft poached, crispy bacon
please, oh and I would love extra Avo and Rye toast on the side thanks”.
Awesome, you are going to get this, Right? Right! And it was simple, easy and sounds so delish too.
You can actually feel the yumminess of what you soon going to get and sit back and relax and get on
with the conversation at the table.
Now imagine the exact same order…. you really want Egg’s benedict but you state to the group ” I
don’t know what I want or feel like!” You ask everyone else what they want and then hum and har
whilst looking at the menu, torn between what others want and your choice of Eggs’ Benedict. The
waiter then asks you your order and you say please get everyone’s order first then come back to me
last… hmmmm… You hear everyone’s choices then it’s your turn, unsure still of what you want, you
turn to the waitress/waiter and opt to go with what your friend has ordered, as that’s a safe option.
Gosh that was stressful and after placing your order of the “breakfast of the day” and choosing what
you don’t want over what you did want, worry now kicks in…. is this the right choice? Then you state to the waitress/waiter “Please don’t overcook my eggs and I want crispy bacon but please don’t burn it and don’t forget please don’t put my toast under the eggs…. well this order is definitely what you don’t want, and you missed out on the extra yummy avo… The poor person taking your order has now felt and picked up on your anguish and confusion and doubt on what you want so I will let your imagination decide how this order ends…
I really believe in being specific with what you want and being clear and confident on your choices,
setting the intension with belief, trust and faith then getting on with life and taking action in
alignment with your goals dreams and desires.
In the above example there was so much going on in the 2nd order especially with the language
focusing on what one didn’t want as appose to what one actually wanted … there was a lot of self-
doubt, making oneself less important, confusion, choosing what others wanted, worry, stress,
missed opportunities …. amongst other things.
For those of you who know and work with the Power of positive thinking and what you focus on you will attract, you will know this well; that your language, thoughts and words are key in placing your orders in life. Each word you speak, think of and say, even the way in which you say it sends a
powerful effect out into your day, just like placing an order. So it’s important to always put out what
you want.
I know you probably thinking what about those down days, we can’t be positive 24 / 7. Yes, that’s
true and we all have down days but again it’s about your language and words and thoughts. Its ok to
say I am having a down day and feel sad, upset, angry etc but I don’t want that. KEY QUESTION here
is to ask yourself, what do I want? Then be kind to self and start to take action towards what you do
want.
Ok so back to the focus on what you want stuff. Right now, you may fall into one of the following
categories
- YES! YES! YES!
I totally know this, and it so works, and I really need to remember to be intentional with my words and thoughts as when I am intentional it works, it really does.
“As you say Yes to life it will say Yes to you” - I AM NOT SO CONVINCED BUT HAVE TRIED!
In this case yes you have tried as you like the idea of this “Power of positivity” stuff and have seen it work for others but it hasn’t seemed to work for you, or it has a bit but not lasted. In this case you need to call yourself on your DOUBT. Doubt is a very sneaky feeling and thought that creeps up without a peep, robbing you of standing firm if your belief in you, yourself, your dreams, desires and goal. Doubt in yourself could be the only thing standing in your way Stopping you from Believing in yourself fully to Self-actualise. So, call yourself on your doubt and start acknowledging yourself as to why you should believe in yourself and your abilities.
“Doubt destroys more dreams on a daily basis than failure does”
- THIS REALLY DOESN’T WORK!
I don’t believe in this as it doesn’t work. This is true as what you believe will work, will work; and what you don’t believe will work, won’t work.
“If you think you can, you will. If you think you can’t, you won’t” - THIS REALLY ISNT FOR ME!
And that’s really ok as we are all unique and individual and have different beliefs in life which we have inherited and constructed and I truly believe that we should all be given the freedom and opportunity to think, be and live for ourselves. However if you would like to start bringing in the”Power of Positive thinking and setting the tone for your present life and future” then maybe it’s time to take action and the first step is to start with your words, thoughts and ideas.
